Known for their emotionally charged live performances and immersive storytelling, Lovecartel’s unique brand of emotionally potent alt-rock embraces incongruity at its core. The Bethlehem-by-way-of-Philadelphia-based duo, consisting of Ash Kernen (vocals, rhythm guitar, synths) and Anthony Phillips (backup vocals, lead guitar) and backed by a select cast of powerhouse studio and live players, melds the traditional world of fuzzed-out moody riff rock with forward-looking electronic accompaniment and bombastic 808-inspired rhythms. The result is a sound that has been praised for its distinction while remaining rooted in their influences, which include Silversun Pickups, The National, early Coldplay, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

After stepping away from music in 2020, Lovecartel reignited their creative spark in 2024, channeling years of personal and musical growth into their most ambitious project yet: Solar Control. More than just a record, Solar Control reflects their journey through renewal, identity, and the passage of time.

With plans to reintroduce their live show experience in support of the album’s first single, “Two Ships” expected in Summer 2025, followed up by the full Solar Control album later in the year, Lovecartel is gearing up for a defining year.
